As a part of the Centura Health mission, St Anthony North Hospital offers ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). We have year-long CPE Residency positions (both full-time and part-time). We also offer CPE Intern positions, single units of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education.
We are a component CPE site of the Centura Health CPE System Center, one of four health care sites within Centura Health who offer CPE programs that are accredited with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
Clinical Pastoral Education is a dynamic learning experience that blends active ministry service to patients, their loved ones, and staff with engaged and supervised reflection. Members of various faith traditions are drawn to CPE to activate their caregiving
passion and develop pastoral caregiving skills from reflection with peers and their supervisor on the many facets of the human condition—physical, emotional, spiritual, social and relational. Spiritual and theological reflection, systems and “living human webs” of care are explored together.
At the heart of CPE is story—our own stories, those in our various faith and religious traditions, and those we care for as chaplains. The arts are engaged as expressions of our humanity, and tools for learning and for the provision of pastoral care to others for healing and wellness.
Teamwork and whole person care hold great value in our learning and service at St Anthony North. Please see information about our affiliation with
Planetree International, their 10 Components of patient-centered care and our continuous movement toward patient-centered care and culture.
